At the Nordic FORSA and NASSW Conference in Denmark, [UPDATE DATE], NASSW’s honorary prize will be awarded for the 12th time.
Criteria
The following criteria have been set for this prize:
The prize must go to a person who teaches or has taught in social work in the Nordic region and who has made an outstanding contribution in one or more of the following areas:
- Social development work of importance to the users and social work practices
- Giving voice to underprivileged groups and participating in public debate
- Contributed through research or other knowledge development to the fact that practical experience has been included in teaching in alternative ways
- Developed learning projects that have promoted students’ ability to creative problem solving and commitment
The prize is an honorary prize and is accompanied by a diploma.
It is the teaching staff at the organization’s member schools that nominate current candidates through the school’s contact person. There may be candidates from all the Nordic countries. Proposals must be justified.
NASSW’s committee constitutes the jury.
The prize was instituted and awarded for the first time at the Nordic Schools of Social Work Committee (name change 2011 to the Nordic Association of Schools of Social Work (NASSW)) annual meeting at the 20th Nordic Schools of social Work Conference in Helsinki in August 2003.
